Eye Bag Removal for Men
As you age, skin around your eyes can lose elasticity, resulting in bags forming underneath the eyes, rolls of skin on the upper eye, or creases below the eyelids. This can become a source of insecurity for many men and may also cause discomfort or in severe cases hinder vision.
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, removes fat, excess skin and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids resulting in tighter skin around the eyes and a more youthful appearance.
Blepharoplasty can also be combined with other procedures and is very effective at achieving a more balanced and youthful face.
What Does Eye Surgery Involve?
The exact process of eye surgery depends upon what the results you are looking for, however, most patients have some combination of surgery on both their upper and lower eye, or alongside other facial surgery. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic and can either be performed as an outpatient, or with an overnight stay. The surgery can last between 45mins -1.5 hours if focussing solely on the eyes, however additional procedures such as eyelid surgery with a facelift can take several hours. Most surgery on the eyelids and lower eyes is relatively straightforward, with a variety of different approaches that can be taken. Book A Consultation

Following surgery, you should keep your dressings on for 5-10 days, depending on the advice of your surgeon. You should be able to return to work following eye surgery after 1-2 weeks, with a full recovery usually being achieved between 4-6 weeks. In the period after your eye surgery, we recommend you avoid activities such as working out or going to the gym for a minimum of 4 weeks, to ensure the treated areas have time to heal. Your surgeon will advise you on exactly what you can expect in terms of recovery.
MyBreast pride themselves on providing the best aftercare in the industry and if you have any concerns you can re visit you operating surgeon at no extra charge for a further consultation to put your mind at ease or agree a treatment plan.
How long will the results of blepharoplasty last? Blephoroplasty can have very positive results, however, it cannot prevent the ongoing ageing of skin which may be accompanied by loss of elasticity. Your surgeon will discuss with you exactly what you can expect from surgery before your operation. Will there be any scarring? Blepharoplasty can involve making incisions; therefore, scarring can occur. However, our experienced MyBreast surgeons aim to minimise visible scars by using the natural folds of the skin. Is blepharoplasty painful? Blepharoplasty is performed under anaesthetic, so you won’t feel any pain at all during the surgery. Following surgery there may be some pain, however, this is to be expected and should be easily controlled using painkillers.
