MyBreast Comment on BAAPS Cosmetic Surgery stats for 2013

Posted on February 4, 2014

The British Association of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) is one of the professional associations recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons as having a role for setting standards of training and practice of aesthetic plastic surgery.  It is an organisation that has stood for excellence in clinical care, it does so by maintaining strict rules of membership and ensuring that all members publish activity and outcome data on an annual basis.  It has a critical role in the teaching of aesthetic surgery but is also very active in refining and updating the skills of its members.  BAAPS have recently published their annual audit data and it is very interesting to see a marked increase in the activity of its members over the last year.  As BAAPS is the only organisation to publish this data, it is impossible to know whether this represents an increase in overall activity or whether it reflects the fact that patients are choosing their surgeons with greater care and are demanding the best.

Either way, we believe these associations represent true excellence in surgical skill and education.  Both organisations fit will with My Breast’s ethos of affordable excellence.
